Didn't do shit Friday, but Saturday brought a new kind of definition to a party. I was out in the East Bay anyways, so I figured I'd head over to a party in Danville that I knew about. Showed up at about 6 and began drinking. Recognized a handful of people, some from the city, a few that live in Fremont, and got to meet a whole bunch more.
Anyways, at some point jumped in the pool (which was so wonderfully heated), and then decided the hot tub would be a fun next. Hopped in there and started talking to some guy about something. I'm not even sure what. At some point I started putting bits and pieces together. Although it did happen awful slowly.
At this point, it was 3 couples, random dude I was talking to, and myself. But then I realized Girl in couple B was making out with guy from couple A. And then C's dude was w/ A, and all kinds of freaky shit like that. So it occurred to me, "Holy shit, swingers!" Amazingly, up until then, I've never witnessed it live.
I mean, here I was at a party with 3 swinging couples. Not just at the party, but in the hot tub with them. This realization got me out of there right quick. So not my style apparently. So I jumped out and headed over to the patio where I promptly got laughed at. It was alright though, made the rest of the night interesting.
It put an early incident in a whole new light. I was talking to one of these couples (totally unaware) when I mentioned I was only 24. I guess somebody that knew them real well said I was a camp counselor around here, at which point wifey turned white. I told her I wasn't really, and then she told me her 18 year old daughter was one, and was afraid I might know her. I figured that's no big deal. I couldn't care less if my parents got drunk at a party. Little did I know.

Poor Pops
So my did went in to the hospital for a checkup to see what he could do about some boils on his back. Turns out he needed immediate surgery to get them removed as they had become infected. This turned out to be quite the interesting hospital visit.
Turns out he had MRSA, and is now diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. The infection is under control, but he's going to have to work on the diabetes. He also has a couple of holes in his back: .5cm x .5cm x 4cm and a smaller .5cm x .5cm x 1.5cm. They freak my mom out, it's rather amusing. He has to clean and pack them everyday, something which my mom is supposed to do. But at the sight of them she gets queasy. So I guess they get to hire a home nurse. Lucky them.
He should be getting out today provided he can get his blood sugar to an appropriate level. I'm sure he can. I spent the weekend out in the East Bay so I could spend some time at the hospital with him like a good son would :)

Is it really about time?
I've had many a blog before. Well, actually only a few. One I wrote in basic HTML just to teach myself the damned language. That was before I even knew how to program. I literally cut and pasted each page. That was amusing.
Then I moved onto the wonderful world of LiveJournal. Had that going for a while. I'm not so sure why I stopped. Did my life really get more hectic? Or was I just so lame I had nothing to write about? I don't know.
And now here I am.
So what to make of this? I think this will be more of a journal for me than much of anything else. I doubt I'll come out with anything profoundly deep or awe-inspiring. But I might. I mean I wouldn't put it past me. It's just I don't think I'd try that hard.
So... where to start. How about where I am in life.
I live in San Francisco. SOMA to be precise. That neighborhood has got to have one of the worst raps for really not being so bad. Yeah, there's the occasional murder/stabbing. But I'm pretty sure you get that everywhere. Personally, I've never had a problem, nor do I know anyone who can confirm they've had a problem (a handful of you might understand that). But seriously, aside from the graffiti and the occasional broken car window, SOMA rocks. My biggest complaint centers around the fact that every year the lovely Folsom Street Fair bares (pun intended) it's ugly ass right outside my door.
I work in Sausalito for Garmin, the GPS company everyone loves. We got Yao Ming as a sponsor. What's not to love about that? I'm in a small division of theirs doing Web Development. So that makes me a nerd. But I've got absolutely no problem with that. When I started a year ago I was employee #7. We're at 12 now. Look at that explosive growth. If my boss doesn't lie, we'll be moving to Downtown or SOMA soon. Do you have any idea how much ass that will kick? I don't think you do. Let's just say I might for once make a happy hour in the city.
If you've ever known me, you've known I've always been into cars, and a lot more recently bikes. I have one of each. Still pimping the blue '03 Z06. It's a slightly ridiculous car. It gets a whopping 18mpg (mostly city driving) and only seats 2. But there's nothing quite like a 1st gear romp. Some will get it, but I imagine most people think I'm crazy.
And then there's the bike. It's even more ridiculous. Seriously, I'd be fine with a little cruiser or something. But no. My '05 R6 weighs something like 400lbs, and that little 600 spits out 120hp at some where near 15.5K rpms. That makes it quite a bit faster than the 'Vette through the quarter (but the 'Vette would kill it in the top end).
So what else? Jay and I broke up a while ago. That was a fun 3.5 years. It probably should have ended earlier, but I guess that's how it goes. She's off in Walnut Creek living w/ her sister still doing the AT&T thing.
Spare time?
Drink - lately I've been quite the whiskey fan. It's good shit.
Kickball - we just went undefeated! Chawoop!
Holy Cow and Cat Club - conveniently located within a 5-10 min walk of my place
Riding and trackdays - last time I went w/ Chris Wilson (of OfficeMax lore). Definitely my best event error. Got down to some consistent 2:12's. Just need to spend more time out there!
And anything and everything I can think of.
So I think that about sums it up for now. We'll see if I can keep this thing actually going. I am somewhat skeptical.
